Droneshotz operates under an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2CofC) and full public liability insurance (£2m).
Safety is absolutely paramount for all operations, no fly zones, weather, NOTAM's and other hazodus factors are all evaluated in both pre flight remote evaluation and on site at the time of the proposed flight. The "safe to fly" conformation is at the discretion of the pilot alone.
The CAA provides the rules and guidelines on the flying of UAVs and must be adhered to in all circumstance.
The general rules are:-
- Permission must be gained from any land owner from which the drone takes off before operations can commence.
- There must be 50 metre separation from the UAV from uninvolved people(30m take off and landing zone), not under control of the remote pilot. (excluding DJI Mini drone)
- drones cannot fly in the vicinity of aerodromes or within controlled airspace without the appropriate permissions – these are obtained prior to operations.
- Drones can not fly more than 120metres from the surface in height and There is a maximum of 500 metres forward distance from the take off point and operations must be VLOS (visual line of sight).
- For groups of people over 1000 persons (crouds unable to dispers quickly) a minimum of 150 metres distance must be maintained.
- all flights must complie fully with CAP 393 of the Air Navigation Order (CAA)
